Not content with a rich and flawless back catalogue of releases under a plethora of monikers such as Dabrye, JTC and Charles Manier spanning multiple genres on a wide variety of labels such as Ghostly International, Rephlex amongst many others, and a career spanning 15 years, 2014 seemed like the right time to make plans to create an imprint with the aim of releasing the the rich flood of music that flows forth from Tadd Mullinix's Ann Arbor studio.
Those plans have come to fruition and the first release this year is a 3 track 12" from JTC.
Track A1 - Escalator To Sorga is a gliding house track with chilled chords and a nagging refrain paired with deep, live sounding percussion that charges through the tension
Track A2 - Infinite Organism is an ageless techno cut, delivering an expressive, anfractuous bassline and primed for peak- time detonation
Track B1 - Veronja One is a dubbed-out 13 minute epic with tireless 909 percussion and ever-shifting peaks and troughs progressing throughout
supported by 6 fans who also own “Escalator To Sorga”
You wait ages for a new Gesloten Cirkel EP, then two come along at once! M-011 is marginally the more restrained of the pair but it's still a fantastically hairy, black-humoured ride through the hinterlands of acid-flecked techno/electro GC call home. On "Real Melbourne House" a distorted voice narrates the tale of a house DJ who only plays out in remote locations so he can steal revellers' cars while they're dancing. I wonder if it's grand theft auto-biographical ... Nic Brown
